Gosseep ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Gosseep mobile application (the "App"). By using Gosseep, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you sign up and use the App, we collect the following information:

• Display Name – a unique name used publicly in the app
• Email Address – verified via Firebase Authentication
• Password – securely handled and stored by Firebase (not accessible by us)
• Profile Picture – selected from in-app options
• Gossip Posts – content posted under your display name
• Comments – comments posted under your display name
• Device Location – to invite other users/gossipers to your room (permission requested via pop-up)
• Gossip Rooms – chat under your display name

We do not collect or store any additional personal data beyond what is listed above.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Authenticate users and secure accounts
• Enable posting and interacting with gossip content
• Allow profile personalization (profile picture only)
• Enforce community guidelines and moderate content
• Respond to user-reported content
• Allow people to connect nearby folks
• (Future) Improve app performance via analytics
• (Future) Display personalized or relevant advertisements

3. Data Storage and Security

User data is stored securely using Firebase and other cloud infrastructure, primarily located in the United States. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including:

• Secure Firebase authentication
• Encrypted communication (HTTPS)
• Controlled access to data

4. Content and Account Deletion

You may request to delete your account at any time. Upon deletion:

• Your profile will be removed
• Your posts ("gossips") may remain for integrity and moderation purposes
• Your posts will continue to display your display name only (no personally identifying information)

5. User Rights

You have the right to:

• Access or delete your account
• Change your profile picture
• Report inappropriate content

Note: Users cannot change their display name or email after registration.

6. Analytics and Advertising

We may use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar tools in the future to collect anonymous data such as:

• App usage trends
• Device and platform information
• User behaviour patterns

We may also introduce advertising in the future. If so, third-party ad partners may collect non-personally identifiable data for ad targeting, subject to their own privacy policies.

7. Content Moderation

Gosseep allows users to report inappropriate or guideline-violating posts. We reserve the right to remove such content, and the impacted user will be notified via in-app notifications.

8. Age Restriction

Gosseep is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user under 18 has registered, we will take appropriate steps to remove their account.

9. Child Safety & CSAE/CSAM Policy

Gosseep strictly prohibits:

• Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
• Child sexual exploitation or endangerment
• Grooming or inappropriate communication with minors
• Any content involving minors in sexual situations

We immediately remove and report any detected or reported CSAM or child exploitation content to the appropriate legal authorities as required by law.

Our actions include:

• Removing reported or suspected CSAM
• Suspending or terminating accounts involved
• Reporting confirmed CSAM to law enforcement

We follow international and regional child protection laws and safety standards.

10. User Reporting & Feedback

Gosseep provides the following in-app safety tools:

• Report post
• Report user
• Block user

Users may report harmful, abusive, or illegal behaviour at any time.

11. Community Standards & Prohibited Content

We maintain and publish Community Guidelines that prohibit:

• CSAM
• Sexual content involving minors
• Harassment or threats
• Hate speech
• Violence
• Illegal activity
• Exploitation or blackmail
• Spamming or malicious behaviour

Users violating these standards may face account restrictions or removal.

13. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data only in the following cases:

• With trusted third-party service providers (e.g., Firebase)
